Welcome to Erk Pod episode 245. Not that you'd know that it is an Erk Pod episode. It is more a Blast From The Past episode. This episode sees Erk joined in Channel Erk Studio A by Judy as she talks about the minor accident that she had last week in Erk's car (aka the Erkmobile). We talk about the accident itself, the investigation and a lot more. However, it is not all tears as Judy explains about the accident using various props. And even through all this, Judy was still talking about the podcasts to the various people that she dealt with as a result.

So why are we talking about this on Erk Pod instead of Blast? Simply, the next 3 weeks of Blast From The Past have already been recorded and some of Judy's friends on Facebook have been concerned about her so Erk thought that instead of waiting 4 weeks to release the episode or delaying the other episodes that we'd talk about it on Erk Pod instead.

In the past, Richard was a Police Officer. After Richard, we hear from Steve from Some Guys In A Car. Steve is a currently serving Police Officer outside of podcasting.

To possibly illustrate these points to end the episode, listen to a real life police pursuit courtesy of Scan Stockton & San Diego Public Safety where there was a 45 minute pursuit involving the local law enforcement agency (San Diego Police Department) including a helicopter as well as the California Highway Patrol.

Scott from the Uncommon Sense Podcast sent Erk some voice files after listening to some episodes of Erk Pod. And to answer the questions from Scott, Erk pauses Scott's comments when required to answer them. This has become known to some as a "Stop/Start". During this extended episode, Erk and Scott talk about work, privacy on the interweb, America, podcasting and a lot more. While doing the stop/start, Erk had no idea about how long the episode had been going for. At the end of the episode, Erk was shocked to find that he had been talking for just under 2 hours!

So, listeners, do you like this format? Would you be prepared to send in an extended voice comment for a similar type of episode? Mind you, this type of episode relies on some content from listeners. Of course, this format would not be used for every episode of Erk Pod.

On this episode, we find out about some people's highlights of Erk Pod, find out a bit more about the 4th of July in America, find out who is going to be on TV soon and a lot more. You can also see the low quality web cam footage on the show notes but it is most Erk just looking at the camera. Erk Pod isn't designed to be a video podcast!

There is also an episode 200 competition! Guess how much US money is in this plastic cup from Erk's US trip and the nearest guess to the correct amount will win. The next episode of Erk Pod will be episode 208 which will cover Erk's flight home to Australia and a couple of things that have happened since being home.

The episode starts in San Antonio, Texas. Erk is chatting with Jennifer who founded NaPodPoMo (National Podcasting Post Month) that Erk, Drue, Orange Tim and Squeak took part in last year. She also is currently co-hosting Tech In Twenty. During the chat, we talk Texas, podcasting and a lot more.

The episode then moves across to southern California and the last interviewee of Erk's American trip, Megan aka Podcast Junky. We find out what's on Megan's Pod, visiting Disneyland, what Erk didn't get to see in SoCal and more.

On this episode, Erk speaks with Ajay Ranipeta (@funkycoda on Twitter) about social networking, podcasting, Twitter and Bar Camp Sydney. During this episode, we talk about what Bar Camp is and what to expect, why was Erk asked to spread the word and a lot more in Sydney and elsewhere.

Welcome to a massive episode 146 of Erk Pod. This was the first episode recorded using the new mixer.
